Firefox Winning Latest Browser Battle

Improved performance and security put the open-source browser ahead of revamped versions of safari and Internet Explorer.

I put the Big three browsers namely Apple's Safari 3.1,Mozilla's Firefox 3 and Microsoft's Internet Explorer through tests of performance and memory use.In performance test I ran clean versions of each browser through the Sun Spider JavaScript bench mark site,which measures how fast a browser processes Java Script heavy Web 2.0 pages.
RESULTS: Safari 3.1 completed in just over 4 secs,while Firefox 3 rocked the benchmark, finishing in just 3.61 secs, while IE 7's 50 secs.

In memory tests Firefox 3 used the least memory: 81 MB compared to Safari 3.1's 94 MB and IE 8 Beta 1 used 114 MB at start up.
With more than 14,000 improvements, Firefox 3 is faster, safer and smarter than before.
